Roles and responsibilities: Position Overview:

The Engineer will be responsible for specifying technical solutions and equipment based upon information gathered from customers and internal and external resources. The Systems Engineer will focus primarily on Thin Wall molding applications, and will work as a liaison between company, the customer, and the mold making suppliers.

The Engineer will be heavily involved in plastic part design for co-injection, barrier functionality and performance, and material selection for performance and FDA compliance. This is a leadership position and the successful candidate will take full ownership of system specification to meet customer requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:

-The Engineer will be responsible for the systems engineering aspect of our turnkey projects including, but not limited to, the strategic selection of equipment and vendors, and managing deadlines to ensure customer success
-Develop application criteria for the machine, mold, and auxiliary equipment based on plastic materials combination and molded part design
-Collaboratively work with internal and external resources and vendors to optimize equipment design for standard and new system platforms
-Generate proposals and quotes for Turnkey Molding Systems based upon customer specifications and information from the Sales Team 
-Build a database of thin wall injection molding equipment knowledge and share it with internal customers
-Provide technical equipment functionality reports internally and externally
-Act as a technical resource to the Sales Team
-Special projects and additional responsibilities as required


Skill set Qualifications:

- 8-10 years working experience as a Systems Engineer ( Injection Molding/Plastic Engineering)
-Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (either Mechanical or Plastics Engineering) required
-Thorough understanding of plastic injection molding processing equipment and materials is mandatory. The desired background would be in plastics packaging for the food and/or beverage industries
-Experience specifying technical solutions and equipment for various applications (ie: Applications Engineering) is required
-Experience managing vendors and working with International customers
-Strong communication skills with a pro-active approach are required
-Ability to manage to tight deadlines
-This position may require some Domestic and International travel
